The 61st season of Mid-American Conference football begins in earnest this Saturday, August 25, as the 2007 MAC Football Preview Show debuts on FOX Sports Net Ohio at 11 a.m., ET.
Hosted by veteran sportscasters Michael Reghi and Jeff Phelps, all 13 MAC teams will be evaluated and each head coach will offer comments on his team and the upcoming season. This marks the fifth consecutive year FSN Ohio has produced an in depth preseason look at the MAC schools.
The show will air again on FSN Ohio at 5 p.m. on that same Saturday of August 25th; at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 27; at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28; and at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 1.
In addition, Comcast Sports Net Chicago and Comcast Local in Michigan and Indiana are scheduled to air the show. Comcast Local (Michigan and Indiana) will feature the show Tuesday, August 28 at 6:30 p.m. and Friday, August 31 at 5 p.m. MAC fans in the CSN Chicago viewing area should check local listings for those dates and times.
The MAC regular season will kickoff on the field on Thursday, August 30 with three games and one conference encounter in Miami at Ball State. Also on that day are Kent State at Iowa State and Buffalo at Rutgers. Friday, August 31, new MAC member Temple opens its season at home versus Navy.
All other MAC teams will play on Saturday, Sept. 1., including Northern Illinois hosting Iowa at Soldier Field in Chicago. As well, Western Michigan is at No. 3 ranked West Virginia, defending MAC Champion Central Michigan is at Kansas, defending East Division title holder Ohio opens at home against Gardner-Webb, Akron takes on Army in the first ever Patriot Bowl at Cleveland Browns Stadium, Toledo hosts Purdue, Bowling Green is at Minnesota, and Eastern Michigan plays at Pittsburgh.
