MAC Places Five in Mid-Major Poll PDF Print E-mail

Five Mid-American Conference teams landed spots in the season's first Mid-Major Top 25 Poll released by CollegeInsider.com. The Mid-Major poll's voting panel consists of selected head coaches from twenty-one mid-major conferences and independents.

Akron (14) was the highest ranked MAC squad in the preseason poll, followed by Kent State (15), Miami (17), Western Michigan (23) and Central Michigan (24).

 A sixth MAC school, Ohio, received 27 points in the preseason poll.

Two MAC coaches, Steve Hawkins of Western Michigan and Charles Ramsey of Eastern Michigan, are among the panel of coaches participating in the voting process this season.
