Three MAC Teams Accept Bowl Bids |

 Ball State will be making its first bowl appearance since 1996. The Mid-American Conference announced today following Central Michigan's 35-10 victory over Miami in the MAC Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit that invitations to its three contracted bowl games have been extended and accepted.
Central Michigan (8-5), as anticipated, will head to the Motor City Bowl which will be played December 26 in Detroit against a Big Ten opponent yet to be determined. Ball State (7-5) will play Rutgers in the second International Bowl at Rogers Centre in Toronto on Satuday, January 5 and Bowling Green (8-4) will travel to Mobile, AL for the GMAC Bowl to face Conference USA runner-up Tulsa (9-4) on Sunday, January 6.
Ball State's bowl appearance is the first for the Cardinals since 1996 and marks the tenth different MAC team to participate in a bowl game in the last four years. Central Michigan will appear in the its second consecutive Motor City Bowl while Bowling Green will be making its first bowl appearance since the 2004 GMAC Bowl.
The MAC boasts the second best bowl winning percentage among Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) conferences since 1999 with an overall record of 11-8 (.579).
