ImageFresh off their upset 65-57 victory over then 20th-ranked St. Mary's late Saturday night in the 2008 ESPNU O'Reilly BracketBuster event, the Kent State Golden Flashes have made their first ever appearance in the Top 25 rankings.

The Golden Flashes come in at number 23 in the weekly Associated Press writers poll released today, Monday, February 25, and are also ranked  24th in this week's ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. The appearance by Kent State is also the first apperance by a school from the Mid-American Conference in the weekly top 25 polls since Ball State spent four weeks in the polls in late 2001.

Kent State's victory over the 20th-ranked St. Mary's Gaels Saturday was also the first regular season victory over a ranked opponent by the Golden Flashes.
