 Photo by David Wiley The preliminaries are out of the way and the Mid-American Conference Tournament is down to the final four. The MAC Semifinals tip off Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland with defending champ Miami still in the hunt along with this year's top-seed Kent State. Here is a quick, snap-shot preview of tonight's action.

The Zips' Road to the Semi-Finals:
Quarterfinals: AKRON 81, CENTRAL MICHIGAN 60
Previous meetings: In their only match up during regular season in early February the Broncos defeated the Zips 86-66 in Kalamazoo behind Joe Reitz's 17-point performance as four Broncos hit double figures in scoring. Chris McKnight paced the Zips with a game-high 18 points.

The RedHawks' Road to the Semi-Finals:
First Round: MIAMI 69, BUFFALO 68.
Quarterfinals: MIAMI 74, OHIO 61
Previous meetings: Kent State has thoroughly dominated Miami in their past two meetings this season. The RedHawks were held to a season-low offensive output in a 50-39 setback on March 4 at Kent as Miami went ice-cold from the field, missing all eight of its three-point efforts and shooting only 32.7% for the game. The Golden Flashes prevailed 74-62 in their first meeting of the season in Oxford on Jan. 17 on the strength of shooting a season-high 63 percent from the field.
