The East took all 12 games last week, running its cumulative record against the West to 21-3. And really, most of the games weren't even competitive. Saturday's contests were decided by an average of 16.5 points, remarkable considering that included two overtime games. Akron, Buffalo, Kent State, and Ohio are all 4-0 against the West this year, which makes this week fun for their fans as they all see who, if anyone, is going to blink.

KENT, Ohio - Matt Stainbrook notched a 3-point play with a minute to go in regulation to send it to overtime, but the Western Michigan men's basketball team was unable to keep up with the Kent State Golden Flashes in the extra period, as the Broncos fell, 78-73, in overtime at the M.A.C. Center in Kent on Saturday.

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zips are off to their best start since joining the Mid-American Conference back in 1992. Saturday night, the Zips routed Western Division leading Eastern Michigan Eagles 77-47 before 4,232 fans at Rhodes Arena to improve to 8-1 in MAC play and 16-7 overall.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons won by at least 20 points for the second consecutive conference game Saturday, blowing out Northern Illinois, 65-40, in the Stroh Center. The win came on the heels of a 72-48 road win over Western Michigan just three days earlier.
