AKRON, OH. - The Akron Zips scored 24 points off turnovers and blocked 14 shots while dominating Division III Mount Union 88-38 Tuesday in an exhibition tune-up for Sunday's regular season opener against Austin Peay at Rhodes Arena.

Eight of the blocked shots came from newcomer Zeke Marshall. The 7-foot freshman scored 14 points while hitting 5 of 6 from the floor and 4 of 6 from the free throw line. He also had one steal and two assists during his 14 minutes of play.

The hosts broke away from an early 6-6 tie with a 39-11 run and carried a 45-17 lead into the locker room at intermission.

Senior Chris McKnight (6 for 10 from the field) contributed 13 points and nine rebounds, while sophomore Anthony "Humpty" Hitchens added 10 markers.

Mount Union shot just 19 percent (11 of 58) from the floor. Akron, on the other hand, connected on 34 of 67 (50.7 percent) field goal attempts. The Zips hit 52.9 percent of their treys.
