Two key Temple players have joined a RedHawks quarterback on the "unavailable" list for tonight's Miami versus Temple football game in Oxford.

Quarterback Zac Dysert, who started Miami's first 10 games and ranked third among MAC quarterbacks in passing, was lost for the season following an injury at Bowling Green. He was replaced by Austin Boucher, who guided the RedHawks to a win against Akron last week.

Now Temple will be missing a pair of key starters when the Owls and RedHawks battle tonight.

Temple head coach Al Golden announced that senior LB Elijah “Peanut” Joseph (Hartford, Conn.) suffered a season-ending knee injury during last Tuesday’s game against Ohio.

The team captain, who played in all 10 games with seven starts at middle linebacker this fall, underwent surgery to his right knee on Monday at Temple University Hospital.

Joseph is expected to be ready for spring drills and the NFL Draft.

Additionally, sophomore RB Bernard Pierce (Ardmore, Pa.), who suffered an injury on the opening play against the Bobcats, has continued rehabilitation this week on his left hamstring. He did not make the trip to Oxford, Ohio, but will likely be ready for the Owls’ bowl game.

Temple (8-3, 5-2 MAC) faces Miami [OH] (7-4, 6-1) tonight in the regular-season finale for both teams. Kickoff at Yager Stadium is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN2.

Miami needs a win against Temple and Ohio loss Friday at Kent State to earn a spot in the MAC championship game. The Owls have been eliminated from the title game but are bowl eligible.
