YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University senior men's basketball player Brandon Bowdry has been suspended for the Eagles' Mid-American Conference West Division game with Western Michigan Sunday, Jan. 16, EMU Head Coach Charles E. Ramsey announced Friday, Jan. 14.
"We are suspending Brandon Bowdry for one game for conduct detrimental to our team," Ramsey said. "We expect Brandon to learn from this experience and turn it into a positive one when he returns to the lineup."
The 6-foot-6 Bowdry is the leading scorer and rebounder on the 2010-11 squad, averaging 21.2 points and 10.1 rebounds as a starter in all 15 games. He is currently the leading rebounder in the MAC and is the second-leading scorer. He has turned in nine double-double scoring-rebounding games this season and has 32 for his four-year career.
The Eagles are scheduled to meet Western Michigan at 2 p.m. Sunday in Kalamazoo.
