Image TOLEDO, OH — Toledo Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk announced on Monday that sophomore guard Malcolm Griffin and freshman guard J.T. Thomas are transferring following the completion of the spring semester.

“Malcolm and J.T. have both decided to transfer,” Kowalczyk said. “I appreciate the contributions they made to our program during the past year, and we wish them well in whatever path they decide to take.”

Despite the departure of Griffin and Thomas from the Rockets’ program, Kowalczyk will be adding eight new players to UT’s active roster for the 2011-12 campaign.

Toledo has four transfers that will become eligible to play in the 2011-12 season. Junior Dominique Buckley, sophomore Rian Pearson and sophomore Matt Smith can take the court at the start of the 2011-12 season, while junior Curtis Dennis will become eligible following the fall semester.

UT is also bringing in four talented recruits who each earned all-state accolades this past year joining their program for the upcoming campaign.
