Image BUFFALO, NY – Former Nichols School standout Will Regan, who played at Virginia last season, has signed a scholarship agreement to attend the University at Buffalo. Regan will have to sit out the 2011-12 season per NCAA transfer rules, but will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2012-13 season.

“I think it’s a good fit for Will. He’s grown up watching us and he’s familiar with us,” head coach Reggie Witherspoon said. “He’s a terrific student. He compliments the things that we like to do. It’s a good fit for both parties and we are really excited to have him home again.”

The 6-8 Regan played in 20 games for the Cavaliers during the 2010-11 season. He scored 25 points and had 18 rebounds. He was named to the 2011 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men's Basketball Team.

Regan was a three-time first-team All-Western New York selection at The Nichols School. He finished his four-year career with 2,008 points, 1,360 rebounds, averaging 19.1 points and 13 rebounds per game.  As a senior, he led Nichols to the Class A Federation State Championship.
