Image YPSILANTI, MI (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University Head Men's Basketball Coach Rob Murphy has announced that men's basketball player Glenn Bryant will join the Eagles' program after transferring from the University of Arkansas. Bryant will sit out the 2011-12 season as a transfer and have two years of eligibility left.

"We're excited to have a player of Glenn's caliber in our program," Murphy said. "Glenn is a high level athlete with a developing all-around game."

"My time spent as a Razorback was a great learning experience for me, both on and off the court, but I really wanted to get closer to home," Bryant said. "Eastern Michigan seemed like a good fit for me. I am very excited to be back home to play in front of my family and friends and to be part of Coach Murphy's program. I am looking forward to finishing my career at Eastern Michigan."

Bryant played two seasons at Arkansas and finished his career with a 3.4 scoring average and a 2.7 rebound mark while playing in 61 games.

Bryant is a native of Detroit and started his high school career at Macomb Dakota before playing his final two years for Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va.

He was ranked as the 36th best power forward and the No. 140 overall prospect in the nation as a senior by Rivals.com. ESPN had him ranked No. 34 in the power forward category that same year.
Bryant averaged 11.3 points with more than 200 blocked shots as a senior.

During his junior season at Oak Hill, Bryant averaged 12.5 points on a team that finished 34-4.
