Oklahoma dominates Cardinals |

NORMAN, Okla. - The Ball State defense held Oklahoma to one touchdown and one field goal in the first quarter, but the nation's No. 2-ranked Sooners rallied for a 62-6 victory to remain undefeated on the season and hand the Cardinals their second loss in five games.
Oklahoma won its 39th straight home game, which is the longest current streak in the nation, while amassing over 600 yards in total offense.
The Sooners scored on their first drive of the game after quarterback Landry Jones found tight end James Hanna for six yards, giving Oklahoma an early 7-0 advantage at the 10:14 mark of the first quarter.
The Cardinals got on the board with 6:59 left in the first quarter after free safety Joshua Howard recovered his first career fumble off a punt return, which resulted in a 34-yard field goal from kicker Steven Schott to make the score 7-3.
Oklahoma went up 10-3 at the 4:52 mark after a 44-yard field goal from kicker Michael Hunnicutt.
Ball State was the first to score in the second quarter when Schott connected on a 31-yard field goal with 12:38 remaining, making it a 10-6 game. Schott has now made 6-of-7 field goals from 39 yards or less this season.
The Oklahoma offense continued to play strong, scoring four times in the second quarter. Before halftime free safety Kyle Hoke had his first career interception.
Keith Wenning completed 12-of-31 passes on the night for 84 yards with three interceptions. That ended a streak of 185 Wenning pass attempts without a pick.
Ball State will return to Mid-American Conference action Saturday as the Cardinals host Temple (2 p.m.) in a homecoming game

• Steven Schott has now made six of seven field goals from 39-yards or less this season.
