Image The Mid-American Conference Monday announced its Week 10 Players of the Week.

East Division

Offensive Player of the Week:  Ohio RB Donte’ Harden

Senior running back Donte’ Harden (Erie, Pa.) finished with a school-record 322 all-purpose yards (184 rushing, 75 receiving and 63 return yards) and scored a pair of touchdowns in a 35-31 win over Temple last Wednesday. Harden’s 184 yards rushing was also a career-best. His 81-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was the Bobcats’ longest scoring touchdown this season.

Defensive Player of the Week:  Miami LB Jerrell Wedge

Senior linebacker Jerrell Wedge (Upper Marlboro, Md.) led the team with nine tackles and had a fumble recovery as the RedHawk defense held Akron without a touchdown in a 35-3 victory. Wedge leads the team with 70 tackles, boosting his career total to 291, tied for 18th place among all Division I players.

Special Teams Player of the Week:  Kent State KR Rob Hollomon

Freshman kick returner Rob Hollomon (Philadelphia, Pa.) averaged 35.7 yards on three kick returns in Kent State’s 24-21 win over Central Michigan last Saturday.  Hollomon had a pair of kick returns that went for over 40 yards.  Kent State’s previous high for the season was 35 yards.

West Division

Offensive Player of the Week:  Northern Illinois QB Chandler Harnish

Senior quarterback Chandler Harnish (Bluffton, Ind.) threw six touchdown passes, the second-most in MAC history, and hit Perez Ashford with the game-winning throw with 19 seconds left, to lead Northern Illinois to a

thrilling 63-60 shootout victory at Toledo last Tuesday night in the Glass Bowl.  Harnish completed 17-of-26 passes for 265 yards and six scores, and rushed 16 times for 133 yards to account for 398 yards of total offense.  He threw touchdown passes of 6, 71, 16, 19, 15 and 4 yards in the game while twice bringing Northern Illinois back from four-point deficits in the final eight minutes of the game.  He led the Huskies on a game-winning nine-play, 66-yard drive that consumed 3:52 on the clock.  Harnish’s six touchdown passes tied for the second-highest single game total ever at Northern Illinois and in a MAC game.   Already the school record-holder for total offense yards, Harnish surpassed the 10,000 yard mark for his career.  He collected his eighth career 100-yard rushing game and is ranked in the top five in the league in rushing.

Defensive Player of the Week:  Toledo LB Dan Molls
Junior linebacker Dan Molls (North Royalton, Ohio) had 17 tackles and one tackle for loss in a 63-60 loss to Northern Illinois.

Special Teams Player of the Week:  Northern Illinois KR Tommylee Lewis
Freshman kick returner Tommylee Lewis (Riviera Beach, Fla.) became only the 13th player in NCAA FBS history to return two kickoffs for touchdowns in the same game when he scored on back-to-back kickoff returns for Northern Illinois in a 63-60 win at Toledo.  Lewis brought the opening kickoff back 100 yards to tie the school record for longest scoring play and set the mark for longest kickoff return.  After Toledo scored, he got another chance and brought that ball back 95 yards for a score.  He set the Northern Illinois record for most kickoff return touchdowns in a game and tied the record for most kickoff return touchdowns in a season and in a career. He also broke the record for most kickoff return yards in a game with 224 (on four returns), and highest kickoff return average in a single game (55.7 yards/return).
