OK, basketball fans, do you have an extra $5,000 sitting around in your back pocket?
Or maybe looking for that special Christmas gift?
If so, then the Western Michigan University men‘s basketball team has a spot for you on its bench and in its locker room.

The Broncos, who gained their first win of the season Wednesday night over Hope College, will gallop into the fires of high-level NCAA Division I competition on Dec. 30 when they play at Duke University.

For a cool $5,000, you can sit on the Broncos bench at Cameron Indoor Stadium just a few yards away from Blue Devils Coach Mike Krzyzewski on Coach K Court, close enough to make a few gestures of your own.

As a part of its trip to North Carolina, WMU has set up a series of different fan experiences that could raise as much as $75,000 for the school‘s athletic program.

The ultimate experience, costing $5,000 per person, gets you a spot on the WMU bench for the Duke game, in addition to invitations to the team‘s shoot-around practice, a film session with players and coaches, meals with the team, a two-night stay in the team hotel and a seat on the team‘s charter flight to Durham, N.C., from Kalamazoo, Mich. There are just two openings in this package.

Is the $5,000 a little steep for your pocketbook? Then three other fan experiences, ranging from $500 per person to $2,000 per person are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All other plans include at least a game ticket and an invitation to the shoot-around practice. The $1,000 package gets you into the team hotel, the $2,000 package gets you on the charter flight.

May I suggest: Do not wear a Duke T-shirt on the trip. Or, for that matter, anything with CMU on it.
