Image OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University's football team will host Southern Illinois University (Carbondale) at Yager Stadium on Saturday, September 8, completing its 2012 schedule, Director of Athletics Brad Bates announced Tuesday. The home game will be played between road contests at Ohio State (Sept. 1) and at Boise State (Sept. 15). The actual game time for the battle against the Salukis has not yet been set.

"We look forward to hosting Southern Illinois this fall and are excited to complete an inspiring 2012 non-conference schedule which provides our students and staff with extraordinary competitive opportunities to represent this extraordinary University," Bates said.

Head coach Dale Lennon's Salukis compiled a 4-7 overall record in 2011 (2-6 in Missouri Valley Conference play). SIU's football team has made the playoffs eight times since becoming a FCS member in 1982. SIU made the playoffs seven-straight seasons from 2003-09, which at the time was the second longest streak in the nation behind Montana's run of 17 consecutive playoff appearances.
