Amidst snow flurries and an electric, championship atmosphere at Kelly/Shorts Stadium in Mt. Pleasant, the 14th-ranked Ball State Cardinals stayed perfect on the season improving to 11-0 with a 31-24 victory over two-time defending MAC champion Central Michigan.
The win puts Ball State in control of its own fate in the MAC West race as the Cardinals can clinch their first-ever appearance in the MAC Championship Game on December 5 with a victory next week over Western Michigan.
The Chippewas also remain in contention however and could still claim a MAC West title with a win next week over Eastern Michigan and a loss by the Cardinals to the Broncos.
