East Division
Offensive Player of the Week: Temple RB Matt Brown
Sophomore running back Matt Brown (Baltimore, Md.) had a career-high 226 yards on 28 carries and four touchdowns in a 42-35 win at Army. The game marked his first 200-yard game of his career and his fourth 100-yard game. Brown had two TDs and 108 yards on seven carries in the first quarter alone. His four rushing TDs tied the Michie Stadium record, originally set by Tony Dorsett (Pittsburgh) in 1975. After five games, Brown leads the Owl rushers with 384 yards and five touchdowns on 68 carries in three starts. He is ranked No. 57 nationally in rushing with 76.8 yards per game.
Defensive Player of the Week: Buffalo LB Khalil Mack Freshman linebacker Khalil Mack (Fort Pierce, Fla.) had a team-high nine tackles, a career-best four tackles for loss, in a 28-26 win at Bowling Green. Mack also had two quarterback hurries, one forced fumble, one pass break up and one sack. He was part of a defensive effort that limited Bowling Green to a season-low 176 yards of offense and only ten first downs. Mack's first quarter sack, and forced fumble, set the Bulls up inside the Bowling Green 20 where Buffalo scored their first touchdown of the game.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Miami K Trevor Cook Senior kicker Trevor Cook (Sioux Falls, S.D.) was successful on a pair of field goal in Miamis 27-21 win over Kent State. Cook drilled a 36-yard field goal in the first quarter and a 21-yarder in the fourth frame making him 9-of-10 on the year, and added three PATs for a total of nine points on the day. Cook has a team-high 39 points this season and now has 31 field goals for his career, which moves him into a tie with Mike Kiebach for fifth on the career field goals list.
West Division
Offensive Player of the Week: Northern Illinois QB Chandler Harnish Junior quarterback Chandler Harnish (Bluffton, Ind.) completed 16-of-20 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns in three quarters of action while leading the Huskies to a 50-14 victory at Akron. Harnish tied his career high for touchdown passes in a game with throws of seven, 16 and 58 yards. Harnish threw completions of 47, 58, 32 and 26 yards in the game and NIUs offense scored every time it had the ball with Harnish at quarterback (nine straight possessions). With an 80 percent completion percentage for the game, Harnish moved to the top of the MAC stats in season passing efficiency.
Defensive Player of the Week: Ball State DE Robert Eddins Senior defensive end Robert Eddins (Detroit, Mich.) tallied a career high 4.5 sacks plus had seven total tackles and one quarterback hurry in Ball State's 31-17 win at Central Michigan. Eddins sacks accounted for a minus 30 yards for the Chippewas and he helped Ball State's defense limit Central Michigan to 76 yards rushing.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Western Michigan P Ben Armer Junior punter Ben Armer (Janesville, Wis.) had three punts of over 50 yards, including a career long 65-yard punt in a 33-13 loss to Idaho. Armer averaged 49.1 yards per punt on seven punts, pinning Idaho inside its own 20-yard line three times. On those three punts Armer forced Idaho to start at its own 10-yard line twice and at its own seven yard-line once.
