Kent St goes for 17th straight home vs. MAC West
Divisional crossover play begins to wrap-up in the MAC this weekend starting with three games Saturday including Western Michigan traveling to Miami in a battle between a couple of preseason favorites. Elsewhere Toledo heads to Ohio while Central Michigan  travels to Kent State. Get a preview of all of the games here.






Toledo
(4-20, 2-8 MAC) at Ohio (12-11, 5-5 MAC)
2 p.m. • Ohio leads series 62-53
• The Rockets saw their losing streak extended to six games with Wednesday’s 59-54 home setback to Bowling Green...Toledo is winless in 12 road tilts this year and has lost 26 of its last 27 road contests dating back to the start of the 2007-08 season. The Bobcats are 9-1 on their homecourt this year and possess a 58-7 (.892) win-loss mark at the Convo in the last five seasons... Senior Jonathan Amos needs 19 points to become the 40th Rocket in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau...Ohio will be looking to rebound from a 76-62 defeat at Western Michigan... The Bobcats enter Saturday’s game against Toledo having won 23 of its last 25 games at the Convocation Center ... Ohio is 9-1 at The Convo this season...Senior forward Justin Orr is averaging 11.8 points per game and shooting 48.6 percent from the floor (17-of-35) in Ohio’s last three outings... Senior forward Jerome Tillman will take the floor on Saturday needing three points to become the 10th player in school history to reach 1,500 for his career, and five tallies to tie John Devereaux for ninth on Ohio’s career scoring list

 

Western Michigan (8-15, 5-5 MAC) at Miami (14-8, 7-3 MAC)
4 p.m. (ESPNU) • Miami leads series 79-38
• It’s a busy weekend around Millett Hall as the 40th Hall of Fame class will be honored at halftime of the men’s game and the 1998-99 team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 will be recognized prior the men’s tip off... Senior forward Michael Bramos has surpassed the 20-point scoring plateau seven times this season and 21 times during his Miami career, most recently with a 24-point effort at Central Michigan (Feb. 10)... his 19th season as a head coach, all with Mid-American Conference programs, Miami head coach Charlie Coles owns the third-most overall wins of any coach in MAC history and the second-most all-time league wins. Coles boasts a 313-247 overall record and a 190-130 all-time MAC mark. He is just four MAC wins away from tying the league record for career conference wins...The Broncos are coming off a 76-62 win over Ohio to snap a four-game losing streak... The Broncos shot a season-high 54.5% (24-44) against Ohio, including 10 three-pointers, tied for the second-most in a game this season. The Broncos lead the MAC with 7.30 three-pointers per game in MAC play...After missing nine games with an irregular heartbeat, Donald Lawson returned to the lineup without a single day of practice to register eight points, six rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist in 19 minutes against Ohio. Lawson averages 6.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and shoots .534 from the field in 14 games.

 

Central Michigan (7-15, 4-6 MAC) at Kent State (13-11, 6-4 MAC)
7 p.m. • Kent State leads series 37-29
• Kent State shoots for its first sweep of the Mid-American Conference West Division since 2003-04 as Central Michigan pays a visit to the M.A.C. Center on Saturday evening....Winners of 16 straight at home against the MAC West, the Golden Flashes have swept cross-division play just twice (2001-02; 2003-04) since the league split into two divisions for the 1997-98 season...Kent State has won five straight after a dramatic 86-83 double-overtime win at Northern Illinois on Tuesday... Kent State is averaging 76.6 points per game at home this season, a +13.3 advantage than games away from the M.A.C. Center...Central Michigan ended a three game losing skid with a 57-55 win over Miami on Tuesday....Marcus Van led the attack with 18 points and seven rebounds in the victory.... CMU’s last win against the Golden Flashes came in the 2003 MAC Tournament Championship game... The Chippewas have held their last six opponents to 59.3 points per game.
