The Mid-American Conference has released its Players of the Week for Week 10 of the 2010 football season.

East Division
Offensive Player of the Week:  Temple QB Mike Gerardi
Sophomore quarterback Mike Gerardi (Parsippany, N.J.) threw for 368 yards and two touchdowns on 21-of-29 passing in a 28-10 win at Kent State.  Gerardi put the Owls on the scoreboard with the first rushing touchdown of his career with a nine-yard run.  In four games, Gerardi has started three games and is 54-of-81 for 871 yards and eight touchdowns.

Defensive Player of the Week:  Ohio DL Stafford Gatling
Senior defensive lineman Stafford Gatling (Burlington, N.C.) recorded six tackles, including 1.5 sacks and two tackles for loss with a forced fumble in Ohios 34-17 win over Buffalo last Thursday night. Gatlings constant pressure in the Buffalo backfield helped hold the Bulls to 84 yards passing and just eight completions in 27 attempts.

Special Teams Player of the Week:  Kent State P Matt Rinehart
Junior punter Matt Rinehart (Dover, Ohio) continued his stellar play, averaging 48.4 yards on seven punts in a 28-10 loss to Temple. Rinehart had a pair of punts downed inside the five yard line as the Flashes averaged an impressive 48.1 net average, to improve to 18th in the nation in net punting.

West Division
Offensive Player of the Week:  Ball State WR Jack Tomlinson
Freshman wide receiver Jack Tomlinson (Westerville, Ohio) had a career day with seven catches for 175 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-30 double overtime win vs. Akron.  Tomlinsons three touchdowns tied for third best single-game total in Ball State history and his 175 yards were 12th most in school annals.

Defensive Player of the Week:  Central Michigan LB Armond Staten
Junior linebacker Armond Staten (Detroit, Mich.) recorded 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack and three forced fumbles.  Staten forced three critical fumbles in the Chippewas' 26-22 win over Western Michigan. His biggest play of the game came with less than two minutes and on second-and-goal from the three-yard line, Staten hit Brian Fields in the backfield and forced a fumble that Central Michigan's Joe Kinville recovered to preserve the victory.

Special Teams Player of the Week:  Ball State K Ian McGarvey
Senior kicker Ian McGarvey (Greenwood, Ind.) connected on three field goals and made four extra points for a total of 13 points in Ball State's 37-30 double overtime victory over Akron.  McGarvey made field goals of 23, 44 and 18 yards and tied his career best and marked the seventh time he has accomplished the feat in his career.
